Social creative agency We Are Social has appointed Ben Clare as executive creative director.
A creative leader with an unrelenting passion for the job, Clare’s creative reputation was built over a 15-year career in Australia and the United States. Prior to joining We Are Social, Clare served as Group Creative Director at Emotive. Previously, he was Creative Director at TBWA Sydney, Clemenger BBDO Sydney and Johannes Leonardo in New York.
During her career, Clare has worked with some of the world’s most recognized brands including Google, Qantas, Tourism Australia, Amazon, Optus, Skittles and many more, helping them tell their stories in meaningful ways across the cinema, digital experiences, branded entertainment, public relations. and social.
Most notably, his work for Google and Coca-Cola won the inaugural Grand Prix Mobile at Cannes. And her latest Tourism New Zealand campaign “Play NZ”, recently won a Grand Prix at Spikes Asia 2021 and Grande Lotus at AdFest 2021. Additionally, Clare has won over a hundred local and international awards at D&AD, One Show , CLIO , AWARD, The Webbys, New York Festival and more, plus several Effies.
Other career highlights include spoofing his work on the Jimmy Kimmel show, acclaimed by Snoop Dog and 50 Cent, and featured worldwide in multiple Google case studies as Best in Class advertising. . Clare has also taught classes at Miami Ad School and lectured at AWARD, helping to nurture the next generation of creatives.
Clare will lead the development of We Are Social’s creative vision, working with a team of editors, writers, art directors, videographers, photographers and designers, delivering social-first ideas and integrated campaigns for clients such as Samsung, Audi, Foxtel, TikTok and many more.
Clare joins the Australian team of 60 to work alongside We Are Social CEO Suzie Shaw (pictured below).
