Voxtrot reunites, announces North American tour and new vinyl releases

“For the first time since our disbandment, it seemed obvious that we had to give this music another chance to fly”

After breaking up in 2010, Voxtrot announced their return to acting. Later this year, the indie outfit from Austin, TX will embark on a tour of the United States and share gear and rarities with a pair of new releases.

Frontman Ramesh Srivastava shared Voxtrot’s comeback: “About a year ago I had a dream where we were on stage and it was really positive. And there was such a strong, palpable feeling of love. in my heart that when I woke up it was still with me.

“I spent that morning browsing social media, watching fan videos of all ages covering our songs and even seeing Voxtrot tattoos. It occurred to me that the love I I had felt in the dream was the same force that continued to usher these songs into people’s hearts and minds years after our separation… For the first time since our breakup, it seemed obvious that we should give this music another chance to fly, and that it would be a joy – an act of love – to play these songs again at least once more and let their spirit of celebration and hope flow free.”

Voxtrot will reissue its first two EPs — those from 2005 Raised by wolves and 2006 Mothers, sisters, daughters and wives — in the form of a compilation entitled old music. Meanwhile, a series of B-sides and rarities will see the light of day with a new compilation cut stone. Both compositions feature remastered audio by Emily Lazar and Chris Allgood at The Lodge, and original photography by Annie Gunn.
