The Dave Clark Five Announce Limited Edition White Vinyl Reissue of Their 1964 Debut Album “GLAD ALL OVER”

The legendary English rock and roll group, Dave Clark’s Five (The DC5) will release a special limited edition white vinyl for their 1964 US debut album “GLAD ALL OVER”. Previously announced as a Black Friday release, the set will now be available via BMG tomorrow – December 17th – released on vinyl for the first time since 1964.

Spectacularly remastered from the album’s soundtracks by Dave Clark at Abbey Road Studios, the limited-edition white vinyl celebrates the groundbreaking album that went on to produce hit singles, including “Bits and Pieces,” “Do You Love Me ‘and fan favorite’ Glad All Over ‘- their No. 1 debut single which knocked the Beatles out of the UK’s No. 1 spot in 1964, while selling over 2.5 million records. The reissue also includes an updated tracklist and original artwork reproduced.

Formed in the early 1960s, five working class guys from Tottenham, north London, came together to become The Dave Clark Five (The DC5). A group that would not only change and shape the course of popular music forever, but also sell over one hundred million records along the way. Founded by one of the UK’s most prolific and famous musicians, songwriters and producers, Dave Clark, the group of 5 consisted of Clark (drums), Mike Smith (vocals, keyboard), Lenny Davidson (guitar), Denis Payton (saxophone) and Rick Huxley (bass).

Recognized as the group that led the British invasion of the United States, they became the first British group to tour there and recorded a record fifteen consecutive Top 20 hits in two years, that’s more than the Stones, more than the Beach Boys. , more than the Supremes, more than any other band or artist in the world except the Beatles. They have also appeared on America’s iconic ‘Ed Sullivan Show’, 18 times more than other UK artists, with over 70 million viewers each week. Their legacy and contribution to music was strengthened when they were inducted into the American Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in March 2008. Oscar-winning actor Tom Hanks inducted them, along with other legends music paying homage to the group.
