Queen’s Platinum Collection will be released on vinyl for the very first time

The Platinum Collection by Queen will be released later this year for the first time on vinyl.

The package containing the three Queen’s The biggest hits albums originally released on CD in 2000 and reissued in 2011 to mark the band’s 40th anniversary celebrations.

Now, a new limited-edition vinyl release will arrive on June 17 spread across six 180g discs on yellow, red, pink, purple, blue, and green vinyl. Each disc has been mastered at half speed at Abbey Road Studios.

The Platinum Collection will also include a case with new artwork, while each of the six sleeves will come with its own individually designed sleeve. Additionally, the new version will also include a 24-page, 12-inch photo booklet.

The biggest hits was released in 1981 and has sold over 25 million copies worldwide. It contains material between 1974 and 1980, including Bohemian Rhapsody, The killer queen, do not stop me now and we will Rock You.

Greatest Hits II was released in late 1991, shortly before frontman Freddie Mercury died, and sold over 19 million copies. It covers tracks recorded between 1981 and 1991 and includes A kind of magic, A vision, Radio Gaga and Under pressure with David Bowie.

The third compilation was released in 1999 and largely features Queen’s collaborations and solo recordings. These include Queen and Elton John The show must continue in Paris, 1997 and the single by Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballé Barcelona.
