Jared Moskowitz announces 6 new mentions for the CD 22 offer

Broward County Commissioner Jared Moskowitz on Sunday announced six new endorsements from current and former elected officials in his bid to succeed the U.S. Representative. Ted Deutsch in Florida’s 22nd congressional district.

With the announcement, Moskowitz’s total endorsements are 71 elected officials and community leaders.

The latest round of mentions includes support from State Sens. Tina Polski and Bobby Powellstate representative. Joe GellerBroward County Commissioner Marc Bogenmayor of miami beach Dan Gelber and former state senator. Eleanor Sobel.

Polsky and Bogen’s support is particularly noteworthy because both elected officials are popular with their large constituencies within CD 22. Polsky topped the Democratic primary for his 2020 seat with nearly 70% support. Bogen has served on the Commission since 2015.

Bogen said Moskowitz stepped up during the COVID-19 pandemic, serving Broward County during his time on the Commission.

“Time and time again, Jared Moskowitz was there for us when Broward County needed him most,” Bogen said. “During the pandemic, Jared was our go-to man for testing and vaccines for the elderly and at-risk populations. As a colleague on the Commission, Jared has continued to act on his values ​​of service and I am proud to support his congressional campaign.

Polsky said she knew Moskowitz would continue Deutch’s legacy and fight Republican attacks at the federal level.

“We just finished a tough session in Tallahassee, and Republicans continue to attack women’s rights and essential freedoms for all Floridians,” Polsky said. “Jared is someone I trust to fight for us in Washington and put in place protections at the federal level to stop these hyper partisan games.”

The riders follow recent support from 13 Broward and Palm Beach County officialsas well as family members of those murdered in the 2018 shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.
