Alice in Chains Announce Dirt Vinyl Reissue and 30th Anniversary Box Set
Alice in Chains’ seminal 1992 album Dirt receives a vinyl reissue and a 30th anniversary box set.
The announcement comes just after the band kicked off their tour with Breaking Benjamin and Bush. The trek resumes tomorrow (August 13) in Syracuse, New York, and ends October 8 in Mansfield, Massachusetts. Get tickets through ticket master.
Dirt was recently certified five times platinum by the RIAA and was overdue for a vinyl reprint, having been out of print for the past two years. It is also the first time the album has been released on double vinyl for maximum fidelity.
Fans have a wealth of options to own the new edition, which features remastered sound. Along with the standard black double-vinyl pressing and other retailer-exclusive color variations (scheduled to release September 23), the band is also offering a massive collector’s box set (expected to ship around the end of October).
Priced at $275, the set includes: the double LP pressing of Dirt on translucent orange vinyl; a CD containing the remastered audio; four show posters; a 24-inch square poster featuring the album cover and band photo; four reinvented Dirt album cover prints; an 80 page Dirt hardcover book with unpublished photos; a resin figurine of the album cover model that fits on the vinyl records of your turntable; and five 7-inch vinyl singles (“Them Bones”, “Down in a Hole”, “Rooster”, “Angry Chair”, and “Would?”).
